LONGWALKABOUT

The meanderings of a restless soul. (it's a lot less serious than it sounds)

More About Me

IMG_4508Since you’re here, you may be wondering who I am.  Well, this is me in condensed form.

I am a thirty something year old married father of two boys.  I live in Pennsylvania.  I have lived in every mid-atlantic state but Delaware, and I see no reason to go for the mid-atlantic sweep.  I belong in the Caribbean, my wife knows this, but she is still coming to grips with it.  I will live there eventually.  I am a Seventh-Day-Adventist Christian.  I have to say that we Adventists as a whole are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.  But, seriously, if you ever meet an Adventist and the first thing they talk to you about is either jewelry, or music that contains, “the beats of the world”, my advice to you is to say something like, “hey, isn’t that one of your kids eating bacon?”  When they turn to look, you run, run and don’t look back.  It’s in everyone’s best interest.  I feel like I have finally reached the age where I can write something and not look back on it in two weeks and say, “wow, what idiot wrote that?”  I’m probably wrong about that.  In college I majored in History, Business, Parks and Recreation, and Law Enforcement.  I never finished any of those majors.  I’m not a quitter, I’m just,,,,, well rounded,,,,, yeah that’s it.  I like to read, I like to write, and this blog is the result of all of my well roundedness.  Enjoy.

Opening Salvo

Okay, so now I have a blog.  I would like to welcome the three of you who are reading  this on purpose, and the one person who ended up here accidentally. Henry David Thoreau said that “the masses of men lead lives of quiet desperation.”  Thoreau was one of my heroes.  The guy spent a […]
